Respect, Reliability & Responsibility

Posted in: Grower Support
Australia’s Network for Agricultural Contractors and Broadacre Farm Services

Finding reliable agricultural contractors should not mean ringing around, posting in Facebook groups, waiting on replies and hoping the right person sees your job in time.

When the season is moving, timing matters. If you are waiting on a contractor and a weather front rolls through, your crop can be put at risk fast.

At Broadacre Contracting, our system is built to help growers connect directly with verified and professional contracting businesses across the Australian wheatbelt and broader farming regions.

Our goal is simple: help growers find the right machinery or contractor at the right time, while helping quality contractors secure more work and build stronger reputations.

Australia’s Most Productive Network for Ag Contracting and Farm Management

Broadacre Contracting supports growers, contractors and agricultural businesses across key farming communities and high-demand regions, including:

  • Kununurra WA
  • Katherine NT
  • Clermont QLD
  • Walgett NSW
  • Nyngan NSW
  • Corowa NSW
  • Ballarat VIC
  • Hamilton VIC
  • Donald VIC
  • Kangaroo Island SA
  • Cummins SA
  • Esperance WA
  • Merredin WA
  • Geraldton WA

The system is designed to provide direct access to trusted farming and contracting solutions, without commission, broker fees or allocation cuts.

That means growers and contractors can negotiate directly.

Broadacre Contracting does not take a percentage of the job. We are a subscription-based directory built to keep the money between the grower and the contractor.

For growers wanting to compare available services, they can also browse equipment listings to see machinery, services and contractor options across different farming categories.

Contract Harvesting, Spraying, Tillage and Sowing Services

Through Broadacre Contracting, growers can connect with agricultural contractors across a wide range of broadacre services, including:

Contract harvesting
Spraying services
Tillage contractors
Sowing contractors
Broadacre farm management support
Machinery and equipment services
Seasonal contracting solutions
Specialist farm contracting services

These services support growers working across cropping, grains, cotton and mixed farming regions. Industry resources such as the GRDC contract harvest agreements fact sheet and the Australian Cotton Production Manual can also help growers understand best-practice considerations across different parts of the industry.

The Broadacre Contracting system helps remove the slow, manual process of chasing contractors one by one. Instead, growers can post a tender and alert verified members who are ready to look at the job.

How Growers Use the Broadacre Contracting System

For growers, the process is designed to be simple.

A grower reads the terms and conditions, signs on, accepts the quality controls, creates an account and then navigates to My Account to post a new tender.

Once the tender is posted, an instant alert is sent to verified Broadacre Contracting members.

Contractors can then contact the grower using the provided contact information, such as phone or email. After discussions, the grower selects the contractor they want to work with and notifies Broadacre Contracting of their choice.

Broadacre Contracting then sends out a notification to let members know the job status has been completed and the tender has been removed from the system. This keeps communication clear and helps avoid unnecessary follow-up from other contractors.

Finally, Broadacre Contracting sends a congratulations and expectations form to both parties.

This helps set the tone for a professional working relationship from the start.

How Contractors Secure Work and Build Their Reputation

For contractors, Broadacre Contracting is designed to help quality operators secure more work, increase their reputation and verify their business.

The contractor reads the terms and conditions, signs on, accepts the quality controls and then navigates to My Account and the pricing area.

From there, the contractor follows the prompts and enters their ABN to be verified as a legitimate operating business.

Once their ABN is provided and payment is verified, they can return to My Account and complete the Verify Me process. This is where they upload personal ID, insurance documents and compliance details.

Once complete, the contractor or contracting business can be added to the Broadacre Contracting instant alert system.

When a community member posts a job in tenders, verified members receive an instant alert. The contractor can then go to the Broadacre Contracting tenders page and contact the member who posted the job using the provided details.

After discussions, the grower selects a contractor and notifies Broadacre Contracting. The tender is then updated and removed from the system to keep communication clear for everyone involved.

Our Primary Service Areas and Farming Communities That We Support

Broadacre Contracting is based in Corowa NSW, right on the border of Victoria and New South Wales.

Corowa sits on the NSW side of the Murray River, one of Australia’s most recognised river systems and an important part of many regional farming communities.

While Broadacre Contracting is based in Corowa, the system supports farming regions across much of Australia.

Due to demand, the system services large parts of the eastern seaboard and reaches into key regions across every state.

From Kununurra WA to Katherine NT, Clermont QLD, Walgett NSW, Nyngan NSW, Corowa NSW, Ballarat VIC, Hamilton VIC, Donald VIC, Kangaroo Island SA, Cummins SA, Esperance WA, Merredin WA and Geraldton WA, Broadacre Contracting is here to support growers and contractors who want a better way to connect.

Supporting Local Farming Communities

Broadacre Contracting is about more than just matching a grower with a contractor.

When reliable contractors move through regional areas, they often bring important economic activity into local towns and small communities.

They may require fuel, accommodation, food, spare parts, repairs, supplies and other local services. That creates demand for local businesses and helps support the communities that support agriculture.

Quality contractors also talk about the towns they visit, share their experiences with family and friends, and help bring more visibility to regional areas.

This is one of the reasons Broadacre Contracting cares so strongly about responsible, reliable and respectful contracting.

Good operators do not just complete a job. They contribute to the communities they work in.

Putting Our Community First Over Profits, We Disagree With Allocation Commissions

Broadacre Contracting is built differently from commission-based or allocation-style models.

The truth is, a subscription model can significantly reduce the revenue Broadacre Contracting may otherwise receive compared to commission-based methods.

We understand that many people in the sector are used to paying based on results, which often leads to a commission on the sale or service provided.

But we believe the money belongs in the grower’s and contractor’s pockets.

Commission, allocation and brokerage models usually take a percentage cut. That can reduce the contractor’s profit, increase the cost for the grower or, at an industry level, push service costs higher.

By using a subscription-based model instead, Broadacre Contracting has to manage the business differently.

But we believe this approach is better for the farming community.

Why Contractors Should See Broadacre as an Investment

For contractors, a Broadacre Contracting membership should be viewed as an investment in your business.

When you are quoting for jobs outside Broadacre Contracting, you can tell people you are a verified Broadacre Contracting member. That shows you are part of a system built around quality controls, expectations and core values.

Respect
Reliability
Responsibility

As a verified member, you gain direct access to other members and opportunities without paying commission on every job you secure.

If you receive no work, your only expense is the subscription fee.

However, if you secure $500,000 worth of work through the platform, you keep that work. Broadacre Contracting does not take an allocation cut.

For example, if a commission model charged 5% on $500,000 worth of work, that would equal $25,000.

That is why we encourage contractors to look at Broadacre Contracting as a business investment, not just another subscription.

Direct Contact Between Growers and Contractors

One of the most important parts of the Broadacre Contracting model is direct communication.

Growers are not pushed through a broker. Contractors are not forced through a middleman. The platform helps make the introduction, but the grower and contractor have direct contact and direct negotiation.

This keeps the process clear, simple and practical.

It also allows both parties to discuss timing, machinery, rates, availability, expectations, compliance and job requirements properly before moving forward.

Built on Respect, Reliability and Responsibility

Broadacre Contracting is here to help build a stronger agricultural contracting community.

That means we care about who uses the system, how people communicate and whether both growers and contractors are working in a way that reflects the values we stand for.

Respect matters.

Reliability matters.

Responsibility matters.

When growers and contractors work with those values in mind, everyone benefits.
