Respect, Reliability & Responsibility

Respect, Reliability & Responsibility

Participation Standards

Broadacre Contracting exists to help growers and contractors connect directly, clearly and responsibly. Our platform is built around a Direct Contact, Verification and Notification System, and these standards protect it.

Participation Standards - Version 2.0 Effective

Why These Standards Exist

Broadacre has seen issues that put unnecessary pressure on the system and reduce trust between users. These issues do not just affect one person. They damage trust across the whole platform.

When job information is passed around, when unqualified people turn up to complete work, or when clear terms are not agreed before a job starts, the value of Broadacre is weakened for everyone.

Issues We Have Seen
Unauthorised subcontracting
Job details shared with unqualified people
Side-dealing outside the system
Disputes over scope, quality or payment
Non-payment or payment avoidance
Poor communication throughout the job
Accepting work without the capacity to complete it
Ghosting or abandoning jobs mid-way
What we did not build

A Middleman Model

  • All communication routed through Broadacre
  • Growers and contractors unable to speak directly
  • A commission or fee taken from every job
  • Slower, more controlled, less flexible for everyone
What we chose

Direct Communication with Accountability

  • Qualified members speak directly with growers
  • Clear standards everyone is expected to follow
  • Broadacre supports connection, qualification and trust
  • Responsibility stays with both parties, not with us

What We Expect From All Users

01

Access Levels and Account Responsibility

Broadacre uses different access levels to protect tender posters while still allowing registered users to understand the work available through the platform.

Registered account holders can view tender and job details. However, the identity of the person posting the tender, their contact details, phone number and direct messaging options remain hidden.

Qualified members are registered users with an active paid Broadacre membership. Qualified members can access Broadacre’s direct-contact features, including the ability to message or contact tender posters and discuss the opportunity directly.

Verified members are qualified members who have completed Broadacre’s identity and operation verification process. Where a tender poster selects the Verified Members Only option, only members who have completed this verification can apply.

Verified-only access is not required for every tender. It is an optional setting intended for specific high-trust or high-value jobs where the tender poster requires additional confidence in the identity, business and operational capacity of applicants.

What each level unlocks
Registered account: View tender and job details while the poster’s identity and contact information remain protected.
Qualified member: Access direct messaging, contact features, SMS notifications and other paid-member features.
Verified membership: Apply for tenders marked Verified Members Only, display stronger identity and operational trust signals,
All account levels: Must follow these Participation Standards.

Account access is personal and must not be shared. Users must not use another person’s account or provide restricted information to someone who does not have the appropriate level of access.

If another operator, subcontractor or business will be involved in completing a job, this must be disclosed to the tender poster and approved before work begins. The person or business completing the work must meet any membership or verification requirements selected for that tender.

  • Do not share a tender poster’s identity, phone number or contact details with someone who does not have access.
  • Do not provide your account or login details to another person.
  • Do not use another person’s membership to access protected contact features.
  • Do not pass an opportunity to an undisclosed operator or subcontractor.
  • Do not represent an unverified person or operation as verified.
  • Do not allow another person to apply through your account.
02

No Bypassing Access Controls

Information accessed through Broadacre must not be used to bypass the platform’s membership, contact or verification controls.

Qualified members are permitted to communicate directly with tender posters and agree on work outside the website once contact has been properly established. However, members must not use their access to pass protected information or opportunities to people who would not otherwise be entitled to receive them.

This includes:

  • Sharing a tender poster’s identity, phone number or contact information.
  • Sending screenshots containing protected or identifying information.
  • Allowing someone else to use your account or membership.
  • Passing a tender to an undisclosed operator, mate or subcontractor.
  • Applying on behalf of someone who does not meet the tender’s requirements.
  • Circumventing a Verified Members Only restriction.
03

Clear Terms Before Work Starts

Growers and contractors are both responsible for making sure the terms of the job are clear before work begins. No one should assume the other party understands the terms unless they have been clearly communicated. If quality standards are not specifically defined before work begins, industry-standard expectations will apply.

Before any job starts, both parties should clearly agree on:

  • Job scope, location and access requirements
  • Farm conditions and equipment requirements
  • Timing, availability and expected quality standards
  • Pricing, invoicing and payment terms
  • Any changes or risks that may affect the work
04

Payment, Quality and Disputes

Invoices should be issued and paid on time according to the agreed terms. Non-payment, payment avoidance, poor workmanship, unclear job acceptance, or disputes caused by a failure to communicate properly may all be treated as serious matters.

Broadacre does not directly control the outcome of work completed between growers and contractors. However, Broadacre may restrict, suspend or remove users who fail to meet the expected standards of the platform.

⚠︎

Serious Breaches

The following may be treated as serious breaches of Broadacre Participation Standards. This is not a complete list. Broadacre may act on any behaviour that damages trust, fairness or the integrity of the system.

Sharing protected contact details, poster identities or restricted tender information with people who do not have the required access.
Using unqualified subcontractors, mates or unauthorised substitutes
Accepting work without the skills, equipment or capacity to complete it
Ghosting, abandoning jobs or failing to communicate
Using Broadacre access to bypass membership or verification requirements, conceal the person completing the work, or pass an opportunity to an unauthorised operator.
Aggressive, abusive or disrespectful behaviour
Non-payment or deliberate payment avoidance
Failure to meet agreed quality standards
Commencing work without clear agreed terms
Failing to meet safety, insurance or legal requirements

Access is conditional on your behaviour

Serious breaches may result in immediate suspension or removal without prior notice.

If a user breaches the Participation Standards, Broadacre may take action. Broadacre reserves the right to protect the platform, its members, and the wider community.

Restricting access
Suspending access
Permanent removal
Refusing future service

Responsibility of All Users

These standards apply to everyone. Growers and contractors both have responsibilities. Both parties must communicate early, act professionally, and raise issues before they become disputes.

🚜

For Contractors

  • Be honest about your availability and capacity
  • Be clear about your equipment and what you can do
  • Be upfront about pricing before work starts
  • Communicate proactively throughout the job
  • Raise issues early. Do not wait until it becomes a dispute
🌾

For Growers

  • Be clear about job scope and farm conditions
  • Set clear expectations around timing and quality
  • Agree on payment terms before work begins
  • Communicate clearly and respond when contacted
  • Pay invoices on time according to the agreed terms

We know things don't always go to plan. Gear breaks down, weather turns, and circumstances change. If a job is cancelled by the grower, we ask that you let Broadacre Contracting know as soon as possible. If you're a contractor and can no longer complete a job you've committed to, contact us immediately so we can work with the grower to find another contractor or the gear needed to get their job done. All users are responsible for communicating changes promptly, and failing to do so will not be tolerated.

By continuing to use Broadacre's Direct Contact, Verification and Notification System, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to operate within these standards.

If you do not agree with these standards, or if you cannot operate within this framework, Broadacre Contracting may not be the right platform for you. These standards exist to protect the people who use Broadacre properly, communicate clearly, and respect the trust required to make the system work.
